The Experience
To celebrate our 17th month together (on the 17th day of the seventh month), we headed off to Kapitolyo, the foodie capital of Pasig, for some Japanese treats. We ended up in Tok-yu at Pioneer Center.
We initially wanted to try Ramen Cool. Unfortunately we can't find a spot to park NIL so we headed off to Pioneer Center's vast parking lot. With NIL properly parked, we rushed to the first restaurant in sight.
While the place wasn't really appealing, the food was quite appetizing.
Their Beef Misono was teamed up perfectly with buttered bean sprouts. Though Suzukin's version is way better, theirs wasn't bad at all.
Their Tonkatsu was just like any other but was differentiated by an authentic-tasting sauce (close to Yutaka Izakaya's... not quite there though).
Servings were generous though the service was a bit slow, understandable though as it was lunch time. The rice was not very Japanese but was of good quality (still a good buy for the near-carinderia price of PhP 20). Overall, it's still a convenient place to have cheap Japanese food when you're in the Pasig-Mandaluyong area.
