The Experience

We have been hearing a lot of raves about R & J from friends, officemates, and even celebrities. So what keep them coming back? It's their superb Bulalo!

At first glance, R & J is your typical carinderia: open-air dining area, monobloc chairs, walls made of wood and bamboo, and a loud videoke machine. Everything gets ten levels higher once you get to taste their Bulalo!
We got their "Bulalito" which was the smallest serving of their famous Bulalo. We were surprised with how big the serving size was! We thought it would feed three or four. To our shock, we were able to finish it all!
The soft, slow-cooked, natural-tasting (NOT msg-overloaded) beef distinguishes their Bulalo from other more commercialized versions. It literally falls off the bone!
Now we can relate with everyone's feelings toward their Bulalo. The walls filled with pictures and autographs of stars (and fallen stars) say a lot but getting an actual taste of this artery clogger completes the "high".
We now have the same "Bulalo Fever" that got Boy and Kris infected. No wonder they personally endorse it in TV and print!

To show some mercy on our arteries, we also got veggies on the side: Crispy Kangkong (still got some oil from frying though). It did not disappoint as well. It was like calamares turned green! It came great with mayo. It's definitely the best Crispy Kangkong you can get for PhP 45.
To cap off, we ordered glass-bottled soft drinks to complete the great local eatery experience.
If you're not very particular with ambiance and you have a car that it easily squeezes into limited parking spaces, this place is for you. With its proximity to our work places and the unexpectedly great experience, we're definitely coming back for more!
