The Experience
While waiting for the UP-TMC Christmas party, Kirsten and I decided to chill out in Mushroomburger Katipunan.
Unlike their Tagaytay branch, their Katipunan branch has a more cozy feel complete with free wifi and real car seats!
I remember the days when I used to study here for my comprehensive exam. Car seats give you the comfort that you need without making you feel sleepy. With great food to munch on, it becomes a perfect study place.
We ordered a value meal from their menu: mushroom-rich vegetarian pancit, Mug root beer (they serve Pepsi products), and of course their famous Mushroomburger!
Their pancit is one of my favorites. It's tasty and has a lot of mushrooms! The vegetables used are really fresh. Best of all, it doesn't contain any meat. A great tasty treat for vegetarians out there.
Their signature burger tastes great with the pancit. The one that came with the meal was just the 'regular' version but it already had a thick burger pattie and some veggies. Indeed a bang for the buck.
To top off, we shared a cup of Mug root beer. It is one of the best root beers that we've had. The taste is not as strong as Sarsi and not as light as the other brands (ever heard of Zesto root beer?). Best drink for the best mushroom burger!

How to get there
- From LRT Katipunan Station, walk to the jeep terminal under the Katipunan Flyover.
- Ride a jeep going to UP Campus or UP Gate/Balara.
- Get off at the first pedestrian overpass in front of Ateneo. Mushroomburger is just across the street.
Alternate way: You may also walk from LRT Katipunan Station. It is less than a kilometer away.
