The Experience
Few months back, we bought a Nipa Hut voucher at Metrodeal. Realizing it will be expiring soon, we rushed to the place on one rainy weekday.

We were welcomed by their very accommodating staff. Service was top of the line! They were very sensitive of their customers' needs.

Complementing the warmth of the staff was a cozy "kubo" feel. The restaurant was built in the 80's but it somehow resembles the old traditional Filipino provincial home. The dishes are then presented in a similar manner (complete with the kaldero).

To get started, we had some buttered mushrooms in garlic. It was bursting with flavor! A great way to pump up your appetite!

We also ordered Sinigang na Baboy: the traditional sour pork soup. The serving size was enormous! I had to take home more than half of it.
Then there was their sisig. It was a bit different from your usual crunchy pork ears. Theirs is a bit wet and more fatty. This will be a great "pulutan" but not much for a main course.
Aside from their great affordable Filipino food, Nipa Hut is also known for the spectacular view overlooking the eastern part of Metro Manila. We didn't get to enjoy it much on our first visit due to the rains so returned the following week for another romantic evening. Here it is:

Yes, it is very much like Antipolo minus the hassle of going through Cainta junction traffic and wild Rizal jeepney drivers!
