The Experience

This is not our first run in UP Diliman, but this may be the best we've had so far.

The Freedom Run was organized by the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Liberty (FNF), together with the UP Diliman - National College for Public Administration and Governance (UP-NCPAG) to increase public consciousness on the value of freedom that they enjoy today.

The run was held last 27 November 2011, coinciding with the birthday of man who fought for freedom: Ninoy Aquino.

At PhP 300 per 3K race kit, this pro-freedom and anti-corruption run is one of the cheapest we've joined so far. The kit includes a yellow singlet and a set of Ninoy-styled glasses.

During the run, the also gave a 'freedom baller' at the half point of the race. Hydration was also adequate, though its not much of an issue for us as Kirsten brought her hydration belt.

We finished the race at around 26 minutes after the start time. We got our 'freedom barbeque' soon after.

The organizers were very generous to provide each runner with two sticks of yummy barbecue plus a Magnolia bottled drink. The barbecue tasted great! (Or was it just an effect of intense hunger?)

Apart from one criss-cross point in the route where the runners went topsy turvy and the 'partisan touch' by the Liberal Party, we are very much happy to have joined this run. See you in Freedom Run 2012!
