The Experience
Kirsten and I had the idea of having a Boracay trip after we saw this voucher at Metrodeal. At PhP 1,500 for a fully furnished room, it's a real steal!
As we arrived at La Oviedo, we were greeted by their very accommodating staff. They immediately handed us the key to our room after verifying the voucher. A staff was also very kind to carry our bags for us.
We were given room number 10. As we have read in other blogs, this room is one of the best they have. We find it very spacious. It has all the basic things you need in a room: a clean restroom with heated shower, air-conditioner, refrigerator, television, chairs, cabinets, and hangers. The air-conditioning unit looks underpowered at first but it was able to keep the room cool. Overall, it is not really bad for less than a thousand a day.
They also provided towels and blankets. The towels were even folded to form two swans (Kirsten accidentally unfolded the other one). Unfortunately, we preferred to use these when we saw some stains from we don't know what. We brought our own towels anyway.
This place will not "wow" you much but it is definitely the best you can get for the price. It is also very accessible as it is just a five minute walk away from D-Mall and a few steps away from Bulabog Beach (the place for watersports like para-sailing and kite boarding).
If you want to go to Boracay on a budget, deals like this in voucher sites may really be helpful. If ever we come back though, we might try out another budget-friendly place to stay.
