The Experience

In a time where fun run registration fees average at around PhP500-700, who ever expected that there will ever be a free well-organized run? Hyundai made it happen!

Aside from the cost, another major thing we consider when joining runs is the cause. And yes, Hyundai has nailed it too! Each runner gets a chance to choose from a rather appealing set.

Kirsten and I signed up to run for Nation Building. Registration was really convenient as it was done online and there were multiple options for the race kit claim location (usually Hyundai dealers).

The race kit was similar to the ones you get from premium paid runs: top-quality singlet, race bib, and RFID timing chip all in a blue Hyundai canvas bag.

The run itself was well-organized. Runners were grouped into waves to avoid overcrowding. Hydration was sufficient and were given in Hyundai-branded recyclable PET bottles (environment friendly indeed).

After the run, we also got the chance to take a close look at the Hyundai EON, the latest outcome of Hyundai's innovative design and technology. We find the yellow car really appealing!

The only downside of this event is parking. I hope they offer dedicated parking space for Hyundai car owners next year. Still a great FREE experience though.

How to get there

  1. Get off at LRT UN Avenue station or Taft Ave. corner Kalaw St. if you go via bus.
  2. Walk through Luneta (Rizal Park) towards Quirino Granstand.

Tip: If you have a car, better park along Roxas Blvd. before the US Embassy. TM Kalaw is just too crowded during big events like this.
