Update (11/24/2014): Big D's has transferred to its new location at Eastwood City.
The Experience
We couldn't get a parking space at Banapple, so we went ahead and found Big D's Smokehouse. It is a newly opened restaurant between Hassan and Countryside.
The place is motor sports-themed, as evident in the interiors, and even the menu. We weren't able to get a picture of their menu but you can check it here.
They even have engine oil cans as seats. Cool!
We were served with two superb meals: Stage 1 and Sizzling Pulled Pork. Stage 1 consists of ribs, garlic rice and corn relish. The meat was juicy and flavorful. It was at par with that of Racks, at half the price.
The Sizzling Pulled Pork, as Ninyo would describe it, is "a cross between adobo flakes and sisig... in a good way". And I couldn't agree less.
It even have a cucumber and mayo on top, which at first glance I thought was a raw quail egg. Cute, eh?
Big D's Smokehouse got a thumbs up from Ninyo. A new must try in Katipunan!

How to get there
- From the Cubao MRT or LRT station, walk your way toRomulo Ave., the street in front of Ali Mall and Cubao Expo.
- Ride a jeep with the Ever Rosario sign board.
- Go off at Katipunan Ave. corner Boni Serrano Ave.
- Get a cab or take a long walk going to the left side of Katipunan Ave. Unfortunately, the place is not accessible to public transportation.
