The Experience
After the dancing lights show at Ayala Triangle Gardens, Kirsten and I headed off to Greenhills for dinner. The Banana Leaf Asian Cafe at Promenade caught our attention. They had great interiors with a very 'Asian' feel with good food to match.
To start off, we had crispy spring rolls. Their version was filled with rice noodles (similar to pancit bihon). Though it was soaked in a lot of oil and had more than your usual carb intake, it still tasted really good!
Kirsten got vegetable dumpling noodles in pork bones soup. The noodles were flat and made of rice (similar to the Vietnamese Pho). The kutchay dumplings were good but Dong Bei's rendition of the dish is still much better.
I got Malayan beef curry for my main dish. It was good and had a large serving size similar to our other orders. However, I've had better curry dishes in other places.
We went a little over our PhP 500 budget due to the 10% service charge. It was still worth it though as we were able to enjoy the Christmas doll play at the Greenhills Shopping Center parking lot.
Those in their mid-20's to 30's would remember a similar show in the COD Cubao Department Store. When COD closed down, Greenhills became the show's new home. The show's Cinderella-ish story was a bit off for the season. Hope they come up with a better story line next year.

- Cross the street to Eton Cyberpod. Ride a jeep going to San Juan or a bus going to Quiapo. Get off a Greenhills Shopping Center.
