The Experience
Since my college days at DLSU, I have heard great Chansel Pizza stories (from their defunct Taft Branch). To conclude the more than half a decade wait, we finally decided to give it a try yesterday. Just like more upscale pizza shops, they offer pizza, pasta, and chicken.
The All Meat Pizza did not disappoint! It had a generous amount of toppings: beef, hotdogs, onions, bell pepper, and a lots of cheese! The crunchy dough was equally satisfying.
It reminded us of the pre-Jollibee Greenwich Pizza. It was indeed a steal for PhP 133. I should have tried it years ago!
The sweet meat-loaded spaghetti was forgettable. According to Kirsten, the chicken that came with it was dry. To complete the meal is the 7-UP that came from a roach-infested soft drink dispenser!!! Yes, I saw two or three of them partying around the Pepsi logo!
Lesson learned: just get pizza from Chansel and nothing else . There really isn't much "value" in their Value Meals. I'm definitely coming back for the pizza though (they're freshly oven cooked anyway), and for that we're still giving it a 3 (yes, it's that good).
